Seventh Annual Carolina FiberFest Marks Milestone

SANFORD, NC—Carolina FiberFest today announced it will move to Sanford for its highly anticipated 2013 event at Lions Club Fairgrounds, April 5—7. The popularity of fiber arts and Carolina FiberFest’s continued growth created the need for an expanded, standalone festival that will bring together knitters, spinners, weavers, crocheters and others in a celebration of fiber such as wool, silk, alpaca, llama, linen, cotton and bamboo. Features will include contests, free demos, classes and shopping for yarn and ready-to-spin fiber, patterns, tools and specialty items.

“Since 2007, Carolina FiberFest has been a place where people come for reasons big and small—to learn, to be inspired, to share and to be with like-minded folks,” said Carolyn Beasley, event chair. “We are thrilled to have a home of our own in Sanford, an easy 30-minute drive from Raleigh’s I-40/I-440. With 14 acres of fiber fun, visitors will find family activities, convenient parking and ample food choices.”

Carolina FiberFest begins Friday, April 5 for classes from 10 am—5 pm. The event opens Saturday at 10 am for all visitors and continues through 5 pm on Sunday.
